Keepers of The Faith

Since the inception of sin into our world, Satan has sought to destroy the image of God in man. The true gospel of Jesus is designed to restore that image in mankind, any who receive him by faith. Because the enemy of man and Christ does not want to see that image restored, he seeks to corrupt that very gospel. However God has always had a people who have held true to the original gospel of Jesus.

In Genesis 6:1-3, Darkness had so infiltrated the world, that God decided to begin anew. Of all those who had some knowledge of the original faith, there only stood Noah and his family in the end. In a world of millions, only eight got on board the ark. They were keepers of the faith.

After the flood, evil men began to once more corrupt the gospel, they built the tower of Babel. This, so that the lessons to be learned by the flood might be counteracted. In the end, God could only find Abraham and his family as ones worthy to be called out. Everywhere Abraham traveled in his quest for that better land, he erected altars. These altars signified the fact that the true God was distinct, not limited to a grove or a shrine, and that he was invisible. Those idolaters who came across these altars, would began to enquire about the invisible, omnipresent Deity. See Genesis 12.

Then came along others such as Elijah and the seven-thousand, the twelve disciples, the Waldenses, the Abbysinians, the protestant reformers, the advent movement and others (read Great Controversy.) All were keepers of the Faith in Christ in times of great darkness, especially when those who should have been true believers themselves were corrupted. These all reserved in the minds of believers and unbelievers alike a knowledge of the true religion of Jesus. As a result of that knowledge, men and women will once again learn how to walk with God.

"And this is life eternal that they might know thee, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent.." John 17:3

I pray that each of us will be those representatives who will show forth to a dark world the true character of the Divine Father.
